Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor Khan who has been missing from the silver screen ever since she got pregnant and gave birth to celebrity kid Taimur Ali Khan, is all set to charm us on screen yet again with Shashank Ghosh’s Veere Di Wedding. This will be her first movie post giving birth to Taimur Ali Khan. While several reports had suggested that Kareena is in talks for several other Bollywood films, but the actress has not signed any yet.
Now, according to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Kareena Kapoor has been in talks with filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker and would be signing her next project. The actor-director duo has had three meetings till now with Gowariker trying to get Kareena onboard for the Hindi remake of the 2018 Marathi movie Aapla Manus.
For the uninitiated, the Marathi film Aapla Manus is helmed by Satish Rajwade and bankrolled by Ajay Devgn; it was Devgn’s first movie as a producer. Aapla Manus features Nana Patekar, Iravati Harshe and Sumeet Raghavan in pivotal roles and the story is about a dysfunctional family. Reportedly, Kareena may soon give a green signal to Ashutosh once the co-stars and the script are finalised.
Talking about her upcoming film Veere Di Wedding, Kareena underlined that Veere Di Wedding is not a typical Bollywood romantic film and said, "It's a different kind of movie. It's a story of four friends. It's not the typical boy-meets-girl romance which I think I've done so much of. So, I thought this should be different. It's a small film, made by women. The producers are women - Rhea (Kapoor) and Ekta (Kapoor). I think it's a special film and people will appreciate it."
Veere Di Wedding also stars Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker, Shikha Talsania and Sumeet Vyas and is slated to release on June 1, 2018.
