Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, who is currently enjoying her phase of being a pregnant lady, filed a police complaint on Friday. Reportedly, the actress’ Income Tax account has been hacked by an unidentified person and he also filed for return on her behalf.
The complaint was filed at the cyber cell of BKC police station in Mumbai and the police has started the investigation in this matter. A report in a leading daily said that the FIR was registered by Kareena’s CA Prakash Thakkar. Thakkar alleged that an unidentified person used Kareena’s PAN card number and password. He then filed income tax returns on the government’s website.
Currently, the police are trying to know how the impostor got all the information.
The FIR have been registered under section 419 (cheating by impersonation) of the Indian Penal Code read with 66 and 66 C of the Information Technology Act. This deals with identity theft meaning wrong use of computer or using electronic signature, password or other unique identification features of a person.
Reportedly, the imposter hacked into Kareena’s account in August only and went ahead to file income tax return for 2015-2016. When her CA started to file for the return later, he was informed that someone had already done that. It was then that CA Thakkar took the action of complaining to the cyber police.
The police will reportedly first find from where the the person accessed the government website. They will also find if someone close to the actress leaked important details to anyone during the investigation.
