Filmmaker Karan Johar who has recently launched his autobiography "An Unsuitable Boy" revealed that he has nurturing quality in him and thus he would like to be a parent someday.
The ace director was creating waves in the industry with back-to-back shocking revelations from excerpts of his book.
"I would like to be a parent. I don't know in what capacity, I don't know how it's going to happen, I don't have answers to those questions. But I do feel the need because I have love to offer," Johar told reporters.
The director was in-conversation with author Shobha De during the launch of his book, "An Unsuitable Boy".
"Since it (love) is there, I would like to take it forward. I feel the paternal instinct needs to be acted upon. I feel there is so much within me and the love has to have a release, it is not going into a relationship, it goes to my mother, friends, company," he added.
The filmmaker says he realised his nurturing quality when he launched Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan in "Student of the Year".
"I feel I have a nurturing quality in me. I saw that most when I launched Alia, Sidharth and Varun. I can't let them go off even now. It has been nearly five years but I see myself staring at what they're doing. Even for all those at 'Dharma'. The emotion comes from a very strong paternal space."
The book has been co-authored by Poonam Saxena and was launched by Shah Rukh, here.
In the book, Johar, 44, also spoke at length about his life growing up in south Mumbai's film family, his initial hesitation about joining the industry and his close friendships.
