The makers of Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Simran’ has finally announced the release date of the movie.
‘Simran’ will hit the theatres on September 15, 2017.
The news was announced by the producers on micro-blogging site Twitter through official handle of T-Series.
“#Simran, starring #KanganaRanaut, to release on 15th Sept 2017. Directed by @mehtahansal. Produced by #BhushanKumar and Shailesh R Singh”, read the tweet.
Helmed by filmmaker Hansal Mehta, ‘Simran’ will have Kangana Ranaut playing the role of a 30-year old divorcee Gujarati NRI woman Praful Patel.
Interestingly, Kangana was seen dressed as maid in the first look of the movie, which has been shot in US.
If the industry reports are to be believed, the movie is inspired by the life of Sandeep Kaur, an NRI nurse in the US, who was imprisoned last year for robbing banks to pay off her gambling debts.
‘Simran’ will also feature actor Sohum Shah in the lead. Sohum will be seen playing an important role in the movie and he is glad to be a part of it.
This is the first time the two will be seen together and the actor is overwhelmed with the opportunity.
"It was a great experience working with her. I have met her before and I feel as an actress, she is very hard working and she gets very involved into her work”, Sohum had earlier stated.
