Kangana Ranaut’s power-packed performances and bold statements have always impressed us. Now, the curly haired beauty is all set to make her debut as scriptwriter Hansal Mehta’s upcoming film Simran.
Though she has earlier penned few scenes in her award-winning film Queen, it will be the first time she will be officially credited as co-writer along with script-writer Apurva Asrani.
Kangana has done a screenplay writing course in New York and it is said that when the director approached her for the role she fell in love with the character and decided to help Apurva in the script.

Mehta has a longtime collaboration with Apurva. In the past, the duo has collaborated for films like Shahid, Aligarh and CityLights.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Shailesh Singh, the film is adapted from the life of an NRI nurse in the US named Sandeep Kaur. She was arrested for robbing banks as she had to settle her gambling debts. And you guessed it right, Kangana will be essaying the role.
Hansal Mehta has is all praise for the Rangoon actress.
In an interview with a abloid, the filmmaker said , “Kangana is an incredible talent and I’m happy that she with her collaboration has helped make Simran a fun family film. I’ve been very impressed with her since ‘Queen’ and even more so because she collaborated on the script of that lovely film. I’m thankful that after Queen we have a similar collaboration in our film.”
