Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh said, “#Junglee picks up on Day 3... Does lower than expected in its opening weekend, but Day 3 biz gives hope... Mass circuits are good/decent... Needs to maintain the pace on weekdays to cover lost ground... Fri 3.35 cr, Sat 4.45 cr, Sun 6.05 cr. Total: ₹ 13.85 cr. India biz”
While bringing the film to India, director Chuck Russell revealed that he always used to envy Indian filmmakers because they can easily get away by putting amazing songs and dance in their films. He mentioned that he wanted to bring a universal subject while venturing into the country with his film. Therefore, he chose a story that will resonate with everyone. The film has been shot at a real elephant sanctuary in Thailand.
The collection in the coming days will give a clear indication about how the film is going to do. The word of mouth may help it gain pace in the coming week. Besides Vidyut Jammwal and Asha Bhat, the movie features Atul Kulkarni, Makarand Deshpande, Akshay Oberoi, Pooja Sawant.
Junglee is Chuck Russell's debut Hindi film as director. Hit Hollywood films like The Mask, The Scorpion King, and Eraser are some of the films in his kitty.
