Trailer of John Abraham's upcoming espionage thriller Romeo Akbar Walter (RAW) is trending since its release. The movie set against the backdrop of 1970s Indo-Pak war talks about unsung heroes of Indian intelligence agencies. After the intriguing trailer, makers of RAW have dropped the first track of the film, Vande Mataram.

Crooned by Sonu Nigam, the song has been written and composed by Shabbir Ahmed. The song is high on patriotic fervour. The special element of the song is that Ekta Kapoor has made her singing debut with Vande Mataram. "Romeo Akbar Walter is a tribute to the unsung heroes of India who serve the nation behind enemy lines and choose to sacrifice their very existence for the country. Vande Mataram for me is a song of reverence and has just the right amount of emotions to tug at your patriotic chords,'' said Sonu Nigam.

John Abraham, who is ''really happy'' with the track said, ''Vande Mataram is a phrase so close to every Indian’s heart. We wanted to instill the same feeling through our song. And the final track genuinely leaves me really happy''. Vande Mataram has John bidding goodbye to his mom as he leaves to serve his motherland.

Sharing the song on his Twitter account, the actor wrote,''Ab jo hamari taraf badhe koi kadam, Itihaas se mitaa denge buniyaad unki hum. #VandeMataram, song out now! Romeo. Akbar. Walter releases on 5th April 2019! #RAW''.

RAW features Sikander Kher, Jackie Shroff and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles. The edgy thriller is slated to release on April 5, 2019. Directed by Robbie Grewal, the movie has been produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Dheeraj Wadhawan, Ajay Kapoor, Vanessa Walia, and Gary Grewal.

On a related note, John Abraham's last two films did exceptionally well at the box office. Parmanu, which released after much delay and Satyameva Jayate, co-starring Manoj Bajpayee set the cash registers ringing. On a related note, John will also be seen in Batla House, which will release this year.
