New Delhi: Actor Irrfan Khan recently created a stir after he made stern remarks on Muslim tradition of sacrificing goats during Bakra-Eid.
He said, “We have forgotten the real meaning of rituals. We have made them a tamasha (scene). Qurbani means sacrificing something close to your heart and sharing with others. Today, you buy a goat from the market for sacrifice. It is something to think about, it is a matter of common sense, we all should ask ourselves how sacrificing another life earns us any goodwill.”
While his opinion has been receiving mixed views from Muslims across the world, superstar Aamir Khan gave a rather unexpected reaction to Irrfan’s remark.
“Religion is a personal thing, he has a right to his opinion,” Aamir said during a recent media event.
While his statement stunned everyone present, looks like the ‘PK’ star has learnt a lesson from the intolerance controversy, and chose to play safe this time.
Currently, Aamir Khan is busy with his upcoming movie ‘Dangal’ in which he will be seen playing the role of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Dangal’ also stars Sakshi Tanwar and is scheduled to release on December 23, 2016.
