Reports of rift between filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker and Hrithik Roshan after the disaster named ‘Mohenjo Daro’ has been floating in media for quite some time now. Seems these rumours had lacked spine as now reports have surfaced that Roshan and Gowariker may soon team up for a movie again.
This would be their third collaboration, the first two being ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ and ‘Mohenjo Daro’. While the first one was a superhit, the second one was a disaster. The period drama based on Indus Valley Civilisation was given thumbs down by critics and viewers alike and the net collections came close to Rs 60 crore in the domestic market.
Post the debacle of ‘Mohenjo Daro’, there have been rumours pointing out that Hrithik is sending angry texts to Gowariker for taking a risk with his career.
An insider refuted this news by saying,
“Both Ashutosh and Hrithik are far too sorted to indulge in any blame game. Reports of Hrithik sending Ashutosh angry text messages about the failure of ‘Mohenjo Daro’ are not only false but also misleading. They are meant to create differences between the two by vested interests.”
“He (Hrithik) is very confident that his third collaboration with Ashutosh would be immensely rewarding,” the source added.
Will the ‘rumoured’ third project be yet again a period drama? The history of this duo answers this question in the positive.
