Here's what Kapil Sharma has to say on back to back cancelled shoots of his show
On being asked about plummeting ratings of the show, Kapil dismissed reports of low TRP.
Comedy King Kapil Sharma is going through a tough phase of life. Things have taken a drastic turn after his ugly mid-air spat with co-actor Sunil Grover triggering negative publicity from all corners. Since then, there are reports of TRP of 'The Kapil Sharma Show' taking nosedive which is deeply concerning Kapil. His worsening health condition is only adding to the existing woes.
Due to his ill health, shoot with the cast of Baadshaho including Ajay Devgn got cancelled. Earlier Jab Harry Met Sejal star Anushka Sharma and Shah Rukh Khan left the sets after Kapil failed to appear stating his medical condition. Whatever may be the reason but such news have put Kapil in a bad light and at receiving ends of these celebrities. However, the host of the show refutes such rumours. "Am I stupid to cancel 5 shoots and make superstars wait. What pleasure will I get in doing this? Why will I give excuses and my reputation in the industry," Kapil said in an interview to Times of India. He further added "How can I make them wait? All these rumours are baseless and there is no truth to it. My show is what it is today because of these stars. They have added charm to TKSS. I have immense love and respect in my heart for them. I am not bigger than my show."
"Please ask people who have worked with me, have they heard such stories before? Some people can't be happy for others and they like spreading rumours. They feel good in pulling someone down. Those who are saying I am not able to handle my stardom, can't deal with my success," the comedy star said. However, when Ajay Devgn was asked about what happened on the sets, he said that Kapil didn't turn up for the shoot and that's why they left. He is not at all miffed and next time when he calls Kapil, he will ask the reason.
On being asked about plummeting ratings of the show, Kapil dismissed reports of low TRP. Reportedly, nobody from the channel came upto him with the issue, he said. He further added that the SONY TV has always been encourgaing and generous to him. He confirmed that the show is not going off air. With rumours doing rounds about Kapil suffering from depression, the man simply laughs it off saying that he is having low blood pressure and nothing more than that. Later, spokesperson of the channel also clarified that they are going for a short break due to health condition of the host. Once he is back on his feet, they will resume shooting.
Things went for a toss post his fight with Sunil. It was reported that Kapil who was in an inebriated state abused and assaulted him. On a related note, currently Chandan Prabhakar, Kiku Sharda, Bharti Singh and her fiance Harsh Limbachiyaa are part of the reality show whereas Upasana Singh has quit to join The Drama Company.
