Actress Alia Bhatt who is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ coined her opinion on nepotism in the Hindi film industry and said that she is successful today because of her hard word and not because she is the daughter of renowned filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.
The dimpled beauty was asked about nepotism in Bollywood to which she answered that the star kids can get the benefit when it comes to first film but they can’t get more films due to it. Alia didn’t take names but stated that there were many star kids who couldn’t carve their niche in the industry.
The actress said, “Eventually, people come to see you as an actor and not because your family is famous, and you can't fool them.”
Recently, actress Kangana Ranaut appeared on Karan Johar’s chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’ and referred him as the flag bearer of nepotism. Alia who made her debut with Karan’s directorial venture shares warm relation with the director. Thus, it was evident that the lady won’t speak a word against the director.
The ‘Udta Punjab’ actress further added that she didn’t plan her birth in Mahesh Bhatt’s family and she is famous because of her hard work.
With some powerful performances and big projects in her kitty, the actress has made her place in the industry because of her good acting.
These days Alia is busy in promotions of ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ with his co-star Varun Dhawan. Yesterday, she shared a video in which Ranveer Singh was seen singing ‘Tamma Tamma’ in Punjabi style.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ is slated to release on March 10.
