The comedy drama film Fukrey Returns is having a gala time at the box-office. The movie, starring Richa Chadha, Pulkit Samrat and Ali Fazal has been well received by the audience across the nation. A sequel to 2013's super hit film, Fukrey Returns had a blockbuster start on its opening day and currently stands at Rs. 66.11 crore at the box office. The film, which registered an opening day collection of Rs 8.10 crore has successfully crossed the Rs 50 crore mark emerging as one of the superhit films of 2017.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to announce the news, "Fukrey Returns has a FANTASTIC Weekend 2... Emerges a SUPER-HIT... [Week 2] Fri 3.31 cr, Sat 5.15 cr, Sun 7.10 cr. Total: 66.11 cr. India biz”, he said.
With no big release around, Fukrey Returns will surely rake in moolah in the days to come. It had surpassed the lifetime box office collection of its first part within just three days of its release. Fukrey (2013) had earned Rs 30.2 crore during its entire run at the box office.
Released on December 8, Fukrey Returns features Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Ali Fazal, Manjot Singh, Richa Chadha and Pankaj Tripathi, who have reprised their Fukrey (2013) characters in Fukrey Returns.
Speaking about the amazing response to Fukrey Returns, Richa Chadha aka Bholi Punjaban said, “"I am super thrilled and excited that this year has ended in such a positive note for everyone. It's something we worked really hard for and happy that it's showing the results. Who does not like box office numbers? But for a film like this, which was an underdog in the first part and even this time, no one really expected it to do well”.
