The first song of the Kapil Sharma starrer film Firangi is out and, it looks pleasing all the way. Titled Oye Firangi, the song gives a sneak peek into Kapil’s character in the film. The ace comedian plays a village simpleton named Manga who manages to get a job with the British Government. Oye Firangi follows the new journey of Kapil Sharma as enters the palatial houses in which English officers live. Crooned by Sunidhi Chauhan and composed by Jatinder Shah, the Firangi first song amuses you to the fullest.
Filmmaker Rajiev Dhingra has beautifully captured the Punjab of the pre-Independence era in the film. Unlike Kapil’s first Bolywood film Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karun (which was directed by Abbas Mustan), this socio-comedy is backed by a strong script and doesn’t only rely on Kapil’s comic timing. The trailer had already pumped our expectations and Oye Firangi song just added fuel to it. Watch the song here.
In the first official poster of Firangi, Kapil Sharma was seen in khaki uniform kicking the butt of a firang. The movie is reportedly a comical take on colonialism and buzz has it that the plot revolves around the comedy king’s tryst with his desi lady love who becomes videshi in her mannerisms after a trip abroad, while another girl falls for Kapil.
Slated to release on November 24, the film also stars Ishita Dutta and Monica Gill in lead roles.
Recently, the comedy king spoke about his fight with his The Kapil Sharma Show (TKSS) co-star Sunil Grover, he said, “I have hurt myself a lot and I think three more months will pass for me to recover completely. People ask me about my fight with Sunil and I agree it was my fault, he felt I should not be talking in abusive language to anyone, if he would have asked me why I shouted and abused I would have told him. By the way he also shouted at me”.
