Actor Fawad Khan yesterday broke his silence on the ban of Pakistani artists through a Facebook post. In the post on a social networking website, the heartthrob said that everyone should work towards a more peaceful world. His post garnered mixed reactions with few saying that it reeked of diplomacy and others supporting him for his call for peace.
The ‘Khoobsurat’ actor was said to have left India after the Raj Thackrey led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) advocated for a ban on Pak artists post the Uri attacks. Putting a rest on all speculations, Fawad said that he has been in Pakistan since July since is wife Sadaf was expecting their second child.
Fawad also clarified that this was the first time he spoke on the matter. His post read,
“This is the first time I have spoken on the matter. Please disregard any other words attributed to me during this time because I have not said them. I thank all my fans and fellow artists from Pakistan, India and people in general all over the world who have shown continued support for their belief in love and understanding to unite a divisive world.”
After his post went viral, it was flooded with comments. Many slammed him for switching diplomacy and not speaking strongly against the terrorist activities seeded in Pakistan. A comment read that he was just saying what the diplomats of Pakistan have already been saying.
