The starting of the New Year was very traumatising for Banguluru with horrific incidents of molestation. Many celebrities have voiced their opinion on the issue and the latest one to take stand is actor Akshay Kumar. The star slammed the incident and expressed his anger on the same on micro blogging site twitter.
Akshay, in video posted on Twitter, today said that he saw the news of the incident flashing on the TV screen, after his return from his family vacation. The actor who is himself a father of a daughter furiously took a jibe at people who blamed girls’ dresses for these incidents.
He said, “The Bangalore incident makes me feel we are evolving backwards, from humans to animals, rather beasts cause even animals are better! Truly shameful!”
The actor further stated that the society that doesn’t respect women has no right to be called as humans. Akshay gave advice to ladies to learn self defence to protect them adding that woman are no less than men.
The outraged came after the absurd statement of Samajwadi Party's member Abu Azmi who blamed women’s fashion for the incident.
The politician said, “If a girl celebrates after dark she should go with her husband, father and not with strangers. There should be strict action against those going against our culture.”
After that, many stars including actress Esha Gupta and actor Farhan Akhtar lashed out at him on the social networking site.
Farhan said, “Women should not dress like westerners b'coz men dressed like westerners are molesters, says the man in the shirt.”
Esha Gupta tweeted, “The only woman to blame here,n she probably would have blamed herself too,is the woman who unknowingly gave birth to a jerk like u#AbuAzmi.”
