This Friday, cinema halls opened to three new big Bollywood releases- Fanney Khan, Mulk and Karwaan. There was box-office clash between Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anil Kapoor starrer Fanney Khan, Irrfan Khan and Dulquer Salmaan’s Karwaan and Rishi Kapoor and Taapsee Pannu’s Mulk. Now, the scorecard of last week’s Friday Bollywood releases are now out with surprising results. Mulk and Karwaan have beaten multi-starrer Fanney Khan at the box-office.

Mulk minted Rs 8.16 crore, Karwaan earned Rs 8.10 crore while Fanney Khan stood a low total of Rs 6.75 crore after three days of their release.

Mulk

Starring Rishi Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, Prateik Babbar and Ashutosh Rana, Mulk fared worse than Fanney Khan on its opening day. Mulk earned a measly Rs 1.68 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 2.81 crore on Saturday and Rs 3.67 crore on Sunday. In total, the movie made Rs 8.16 crore over the weekend.

Karwaan

The film which was expected to open Rs 1.50 crore lad a lethargic start at the box office on Day 1. The morning shows of day one of the film experienced just 10-15 per cent occupancy. While the film is excited to make Rs 12 crore in the first weekend, but it looks like after a slow start it will be difficult to touch the mark.

“#Karwaan witnessed an upward trend on Sat and Sun, after a low Fri... Sustaining on weekdays important... Fri 1.60 cr, Sat 2.80 cr, Sun 3.70 cr. Total: ₹ 8.10 cr. India biz”, trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced.

Fanney Khan

Even though Fanney Khan brings back Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on the silver screen after a long while, the film seems to have failed to impress the audience.

The musical drama earned Rs 1.90 crore on its opening day and added another Rs 2.25 crore and Rs 2.60 crore on its first Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Mulk collected lower than Fanney Khan on the first day, earning only Rs 1.45 crore approximately. However, the film sees a raise in collection over its weekend – Rs 2.35 crore (Saturday) and Rs 3 crore (Sunday), thus surpassing the total three days collection of Fanney Khan.
