New Delhi: Actor Emraan Hashmi’s latest film ‘Azhar’ has become a nice topic for everyone to discuss. The movie opened hell’s gates for sleeping controversies like match fixing and politics in cricketing bodies. The biopic chronicles the life of former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin.
Apart from the aforementioned topics, one particular thing about the move too grabbed a lot of attention. It was a statement by actress Nargis Fakhri who plays the role of Sangeeta Bijlani, Azharuddin’s second wife in the film. Nargis, said that she was uncomfortable kissing Emraan multiple times in the movie.
When asked why, she replied,
“He’s done that a lot. For me, it was pretty gross. You see that moustache [points at the film’s poster]? How do I know that’s not made from pubic hair? I had to kiss that. Not once. SEVERAL TIMES. The moustache was annoying as hell.”
This statement was bound to make many people laugh and some resonate with Nargis’ disgust. Recently, Emraan Hashmi was asked to comment on this statement of his co-star and he said to a leading entertainment portal,
“You know, the pubic hair statement was a joke that happened on the set and it eventually went out. I don’t know who got it out and why she started talking about it, but I think it was all in jest and anything she says, should be taken with a pinch of salt because that’s her sense of humour. But no, there is no bad blood between us.”
Well, this clears a lot.
Emraan also had something to say about Nargis’ abrupt visit to New York. On Friday, Nargis flew to New York and many thought it was because her beau Udya Chopra called off their wedding. However, her spokesperson cleared the air on the matter that she went back because she had health issues.
Of course Emraan, who has spent a great deal of time with her while filming was asked to comment on it and he said,
“Here are all speculative stories. What I know was that she was a bit unwell and so the last leg of promotions, she had to bail out and leave. That’s the last I have heard of that and I have not been in touch. I just hope she has a speedy recovery and gets back to work very soon.”
‘Azhar’ released on 13th May and has done a decent business at the box office. The biopic has earned Rs 13. 30 crores by the end of first week.
