Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga starring Sonam Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Juhi Chawla has earned Rs 5.58 crore on Sunday, taking its overall collection up to Rs 13.53 crore. The movie directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar, which talks about same-sex love opened up with Rs 3.30 crore and went on to earn Rs 4.65 crore on day 2. Though the film got rave reviews from critics, its box office numbers are a bit disappointing considering the star cast.

It was expected that on Sunday, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga will make good numbers, however, it didn't perform that well. The film is being lauded for being the first mainstream commercial Bollywood movie to talk about homosexuality. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the latest figure of the film. ''#EkLadkiKoDekhaTohAisaLaga finds limited patronage... Plexes of select metros witnessed growth over the weekend, but the overall total is low... Weekdays crucial... Fri 3.30 cr, Sat 4.65 cr, Sun 5.58 cr. Total: ₹ 13.53 cr. India biz. #ELKDTAL,'' he wrote.

India TV's movie critic writes, ''Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga has a treatment similar to mainstream Bollywood masala film but still, it stands out as it makes you reflect on your inner self and different types of prejudices we hold. The script is plain, devoid of any risk, which is lifted by power-packed performances by its cast. The makers have chosen the actors quite wisely and that's why you would remain hooked to it.'' A day after the release, the star cast of the film appeared on India TV's conclave TV Ka Dum where they talked about their movie and the impact of television on masses. National Award winning actor Rajkummar Rao said that even Bollywood stars visit the sets of TV shows to promote their films as they know the reach of television.
