The hit television show ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ which had a successful run for almost four years is now reportedly going off air. Reports suggest that due to a constant dip in TRP ratings, the makers have decided to end the show in September. While one season gets a wrap-down, the makers are already said to be in plans for a second season.
However, the lead pair of Anas Rashid and Deepika Singh will reportedly not be a part of the second season of the show.
As soon as this piece of news broke, rumours started doing rounds that the makers could rope in someone from the Bollywood industry to play the male protagonist.
It is believed that the makers are in talks with actors Sharman Joshi and Sonu Sood for the second season.
But looks like these rumours carried no truth in them.
A report published in a leading daily points out that Sharman and Sonu don’t fit the bill of the character and hence won’t be cast. Reportedly, the script demanded a 35-year old actor for the role of Uma Shankar.
The makers are still on the look out for their hero.
Also, Neelu Waghela (Bhabho), Kanika Maheshwari (Meenakshi) and Karan Godwani (Vikram) will continue to be a part of "Diya Aur Baati Hum 2."
The serial ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ will reportedly end on a happy note.
