Dhadak is Bollywood’s first love story of 2018. Featuring newbies Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, the film has been doing good business at the box-office. The Karan Johar production venture has broken several box office records, even beating the Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra starrer Student of the Year. Dhadak, which released on July 20, is steady on the tenth day of its opening. Furthermore, the film has beaten Sanjay Dutt starrer Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 at the box-office battle.

On the other hand, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 opened well below expectations with an estimated Rs. 2.75 crore in ticket sales over Friday and Saturday in theatres across India. According to Box Office India, the film earned a mediocre Rs 1.25 crore on Day 1 of its release and Rs 1.5 crore on its second day.
The movie is the third installment in the Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster franchise and features Sanjay Dutt, Jimmy Shergill, Chitrangda Singh and Soha Ali Khan among others in pivotal roles.
Well, Janhvi and Ishaan’s Dhadak has beaten Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 in the box-office battle race. Producer Karan Johar celebrated the film's success with Janhvi, Ishaan and Shashank recently.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Dhadak tells the story of two star-crossed lovers, Parthavi Singh (Janhvi Kapoor) and Madhukar Bagla (Ishaan Khatter), who belong to different castes. All hell breaks loose when Parthavi's family discovers their affair, and the couple is forced to elope. They soon realise that they can't survive on love and fresh air, and a happily-ever-after is far from easy.
