Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter's highly-anticipated Bollywood movie, Dhadak, which released yesterday, has minted Rs. 8.71 crores on its opening day. Dhadak has crossed the day one collection of karan Johar's film Student Of The Year.
The movie marked the much-awaited Bollywood debut of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor's daughter and Shahid Kapoor's half-brother. Dhadak is a remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat.
Taking to Twitter, film critic and trade analyst, Taran Adarsh shared the news. He wrote, "#Dhadak takes a HEROIC START... Rarely does a film starring absolute newcomers open so well... Day 1 is higher than #StudentOfTheYear [? 8 cr]. Fri ? 8.71 cr. India biz."
The flick also stars Ashutosh Rana, Kharaj Mukherjee and Aditya Kumar.
Dhadak is a romantic drama. It is directed by Shashank Khaitan, produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios and stars Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter in lead roles.
