New Delhi: Looks like actress Priyanka Chopra is in no mood to entertain gossips which paint a bad picture about her relationships with her contemporaries. A few days ago, rumours surfaced that all is not well between Priyanka and her Bajirao Mastani co-actress Deepika Padukone, but the former has rubbished these reports.
At the launch of the special issue of a Men’s magazine, Priyanka reportedly said that nothing has changed between Deepika and her.
These rumours started off when apparently Deepika refused to share stage with Priyanka at the recently concluded IIFA. It was reported that the two divas were to perform on their song Pinga but Deepika opted out. It was also suggested that Deepika was upset because she drew less money than Piggy Chopra for the performance.
But, looks like Priyanka has a different story to tell! When questioned about her bind with Deepika post IIFA, Priyanka was quoted by a leading daily, “Earlier you all (media) used to write we are BFFs (best friends forever) so why and how did this change. I did not say it (equation) has changed. You only said it has changed. I am clarifying whatever it was earlier, it is same today also. Your (media) perspective has changed and that shouldn’t have happened.”
Well, this would put a rest on all these rumours.
At the same event, Priyanka also said that she doesn’t pay much heed to what other people do. It was pointed to PeeCee that reportedly Deepika is trying hard to bag many Hollwywod projects. To this she said, “I don’t pay attention to what others are doing. My career has been very solitary. My career has nothing to do with the success and failure of others. I hope the way I am trying to open doors for others (Indian actors) by representing Indian film industry in the west, a lot of South Asian actors too get an entry on global level. Whoever gets good work I will always wish them well. I would wish them more success than me.”
