Actors Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet and Tabu's film, De De Pyaar De, which hit the cinema halls last Thursday, had a decent start at the box office. On its opening day (including the Thursday paid previews), the Akiv Ali-directed film made Rs 10.41 crore. It was one of Ajay Devgn’s lowest openings days at the box-office in recent times. However, the film has picked up on its second day (Rs 13.39 crore) and third day (Rs 14.64 crore), taking its total box-office collection to Rs 38.54 crore in three days.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh had predicted that De De Pyaar De will pick up its business on its second day. He took to his Instagram account earlier today and announced the Day 3 box-office collection for the film. "#DeDePyaarDe witnesses day-wise growth... Biz was affected on Day 3 due to polling in some parts... Mumbai and Delhi-NCR plexes lead... Weekdays crucial... Fri 10.41 cr [incl Thu previews], Sat 13.39 cr, Sun 14.74 cr. Total: ₹ 38.54 cr. India biz. #DDPD".
DDPD explores the romance between a 50-year-old man and a 26-year-old girl and details his attempts at trying to make his family accept their relationship.
India TV critic rated De De Pyaar De 1'5 stars and wrote, "The title talks about Pyaar, but the film in totality had too many things to offer including headache, restlessness, mindlessness and commotion. It could’ve been a simple comedy-cum-love story between two people who are generations apart. But no, writer Akiv Ali who has also directed the film tried to put too many ingredients in it including family drama, divorce, adultery and what not".
