Sharing the detailed breakdown of Dangal worldwide, trade analysts Taran Adarsh wrote on his microblogging site Twitter, “#Dangal Gross Box Office Collection @ Worldwide Box Office (Till June 4th 2017): #China – Rs 1089 crore. #Taiwan – Rs 36.50 crore. Rest of the World – Rs 744.50 crore. Total – Rs 1870 crore.”

Dangal got released in Chinese market on as many as 7000 plus screens on May 5. This is a special achievement for Aamir’s film Dangal. China has a special quota for foreign films where the number of Indian films is too small. Yet, Dangal managed to make this record of crossing Rs 1,000 crore in China.

Dangal is a film about determined father in a patriarchal society, who can be seen training his daughters into world class wrestlers. Interestingly, Aamir is also one of the popular Indian star in China and with this film he has added another feather to his cap. Dangal was highly appreciated in China and the film is still on the record breaking spree in the worldwide market.

In an interaction, Aamir spoke about how overwhelmed he is with the response to the sports drama. "While we were hoping that Dangal connects with the people of China, not in our wildest dreams we thought that this is the kind of connect we would have. It was unprecedented. We are pleasantly surprised," said Aamir, whose PK, 3 Idiots and Dhoom 3 also did well in China.
