Superstar Aamir Khan’s film Dangal has become the highest grossing Bollywood movie of all time as the worldwide collection of the film has surpassed Rs 2000 crore mark. The film has scripted history. Dangal was recently released in China and smashed the Chinese box office. As per Forbes report, the film has collected Rs 2.5 crore on its 53rd day in China. When other films in Bollywood are struggling to reach 1000 crore club, Dangal has set a new standard by introducing 2000 crore club.
The sports drama hit the Chinese screens on May 5 and minted Rs 1,154 crore at the box office in just 39 days. In India, the lifetime collection of the film was Rs 387 crore. Dangal not only had earth-shattering collections but it also managed to impress critics. As Aamir starrer has crossed Rs 2000 crore mark, all eyes are now on Baahubali 2, which will also hit the screens in China. SS Rajamouli’s directorial venture has crossed Rs 1500 crore worldwide and it is yet to be seen if Prabhas starrer receives the same response in China.
On a related note, Dangal is based on the real-life story of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and showcases his struggle to make his daughters world champions. The film was directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Along with Aamir, Dangal also featured actresses Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra and Sakshi Tanwar in pivotal roles.
