Renowned wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat’s daughter Geeta Phogat is all set to tie the knot on November 20 and superstar Aamir Khan will not just be an important part of the wedding celebration but is also planning to give a special gift to the bride.
Aamir actor will be giving the bridal lehenga to Geeta for her big day.
His spokesperson confirms the news, saying that the bridal dress is usually give to the bride by her father and Aamir wants to do this for Geeta. It is quite obvious that Khan will have several emotions attached to this special gift and that he considers Geeta-Babita as a family.
The superstar developed an emotional bond with the Phogat family during the making of his much-anticipated movie ‘Dangal’. The movie is based on Mahavir Singh’s journey of turning his daughters Geeta and Babita into successful wrestlers. In ‘Dangal’, Aamir have essayed the role of their father Mahavir Singh, while young actresses Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra have portrayed Geeta and Babita Phogat.
As per the media reports, Khan is also been keeping a tab on all the arrangements for every function personally to ensure everything is in place. In fact, he is also said to be arranging gifts for the bride and groom’s family.
It is also speculated that Aamir has taken a three day off to attend Geeta Phogat’s wedding in her native village Balali in Haryana.
Besides, reports are rife that ‘Dangal’ director Nitesh Tiwari too will mark his presence at the event.
Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ has created a lot of buzz ever since it was announced. Besides the trailer, the songs are getting positive reviews from the audience. It is expected that Aamir’s wrestling saga will do a commendable business at the box office and might give a tough competition to Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ which was also based on wrestling.
Only time will reveal if the movie is able to stand true to the audience’s expectations.
‘Dangal’ is scheduled to release on December 23 this year.
