Emraan Hashmi is back with a solid story and powerful performance. Trailer of his upcoming drama Cheat India is out and it looks promising. The film is about education racket and scams in several entrance exams. Hashmi features as the kingpin of the racket, Rakesh Singh. He has a team of brilliant students who write exams for other candidates seeking admission in good institutes. In return, he takes only cash with full guarantee of the seat.
Emraan's character believes that rich and powerful do scams, hard work is just for salaried people. He has no qualms about his work. In fact, he has Robinhood-like attitude as he feels he is only helping needy students by giving them money. The actor shared the trailer on his Twitter account with the caption: ''On your 'marks', get set, CHEAT..... The #CheatIndiaTrailer you've been waiting for''. Check out the trailer below:
Hashmi has tried something different in his forthcoming film. He has brought forth serious issues deeply affecting the education system of India. The actor's look and accent complement the storyline well. The story is predictable, however, it will be interesting to watch how the story unfolds. Going by the trailer, it seems makers have only focussed on the rigging of examinations.
Earlier in an interview with IANS, Emraan Hashmi said, “The script and title of Cheat India are supremely powerful. This is among the most engaging and riveting stories I’ve read in a while and I am thrilled to be essaying what I believe will be a landmark role in my filmography.”
Cheat India is directed by Soumik Sen and has been bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Tanuj Garg, Atul Kasbekar and Parveen Hashmi. The movie will release on January 25 next year.
