Supreme Court decision to play National Anthem in cinema halls before screening of a movie was welcomed by most of the Bollywood celebrities. Many actors and directors applauded this move and were in support of the apex court’s decision.
Actor Randeep Hooda voiced his opinion on the same saying that he has no problem with this new rule. The actor further stated that he never sat and relaxed when the National Anthem was being played. Hooda opined that it is everybody’s duty to stand for National Anthem.
‘Pink’ fame Taapsee Pannu stated that she liked the initiative and was very happy with it, adding that she loved to watch National anthem on the silver screen. She stated, “I don't know if it will influence anyone or change the thinking because it's a very subjective thing as everyone views everything in different perspective. I can only talk about myself. I am really happy and proud.”
Director Shoojit Sircar thought that the move was great as he was hoping for something good like that from quite some time.
Actor Jackie Shroff stated that National Anthem generates great sense of responsibility among people. He recalled that before 15-20 years, the National Anthem was played at the end of the movie and said that it should be played before the movie gets started.
However, author Chetan Bhagat has something different to offer. He slammed the decision with series of tweets. He tweeted, “What if I love my country and anthem, but just like religion, I don't like to display it in a public manner? Why are you imposing it?”
