Two big Bollywood films, Bhoomi and Haseena Parkar hit the cinemas on September 22 along with the critically acclaimed film Newton. While the Rajkummar Rao starrer earned 96 Lakhs on its opening day, Haseena Parkar and Bhoomi fared comparatively better at the box-office. Sanjay Dutt’s comeback film Bhoomi talked about father and daughter relationship where Aditi Rao Hyadri played onscreen daughter to Sanju Baba. Meanwhile, Haseena Parkar chronicles the journey of Haseena, Dawood Ibrahim’s sister from teenage to the time when she was 40-year-old.
Bhoomi Box Office Collection Day 1
Bhoomi was one of the most awaited films of the year as it marks the comeback of Sanjay after a long gap. The film directed by Omung Kumar explores father-daughter relationship. Actress Aditi Rao Hydari played the role of Sanjay’s daughter in the film. According to film-trade analyst Taran Adarsh's tweet, Bhoomi made Rs 2.25 crore on its opening day.
The filmmaker opened up on working with Sanjay and said, “Directing Sanjay Dutt is a dream for any director. So I said yes. It is an honour for me to work with him”.
Hassena Parkar Box Office Collection Day 1
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia's , the film earned an estimated Rs 1.87 crore on its first day, as per Bollywood Hungama. Shraddha Kapoor said that her endeavour was to get as close to Haseena as possible in terms of look. The film saw Shraddha's actor brother Siddhanth Kapoor portray the role of Dawood Ibrahim.
