Vikramaditya Motwane, who shelled out critically-acclaimed films like Trapped and Lootera, is back in action with Bhavesh Joshi Superhero. Just like the title, the film’s posters are quirky like anything. It features Anil Kapoor’s son and Mirzyaa actor Harshvardhan Kapoor in lead role. Bhavesh Joshi Superhero has been bankrolled by Eros International, Reliance Entertainment, Vikas Bahl, Madhu Mantena & Anurag Kashyap. It is slated to release on May 25.
On Wednesday, the makers of the film shared the first posters. Harshvardhan Kapoor wrote, “He’s here! #BhaveshJoshiSuperhero”. The poster features a masked superhero, who is most probably Harshvardhan in character. The posters are giving a look of iconic Marvel comic books with sketchy hints and vibrant colours.
However, despite bearing the term ‘superhero’ in its title, Bhavesh Joshi Superhero is not a superhero film. It is a story of a young man’s thirst for revenge and his ultimate discovery that he’s meant for much better things in life. The Vikramaditya Motwane film has been shot in and around Mumbai.
Vikramaditya Motwane is foraying into a completely new genre after making films in psychological drama, romance and philosophical genres. In an interview with IANS, Harshvardhan said, “It’s Vikramaditya Motwane so you can trust him to do something original. I am still so new in acting and it has been my second experience. I am very blessed to have two amazing directors. They are my favourite directors in India. I have worked with them in my first two films.”
Apart from Bhavesh Joshi Superhero, Harshvardhan Kapoor will also feature in Olympic gold medallist shooter Abhinav Bindra later.
