It seems like Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer’s ‘Batti’ went ‘Gul’ within its first week. During its course since its release, Shree Narayan Singh’s social drama has managed to rake in around Rs 26 crore at the box office. On Sunday, the box office numbers rose up to Rs 8.54 crore, however the film witnessed a fall on Monday. On Monday, the film earned Rs 3.16 crore, less than half of its earning on Sunday.
Sharing the box office collection on Twitter, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “#BattiGulMeterChalu Fri 6.76 cr, Sat 7.96 cr, Sun 8.54 cr, Mon 3.16 cr. Total: ₹ 26.42 cr. India biz. #BGMC”
Batti Gul Meter Chalu is on its downward trajectory observing the current trend. The coming few days are going to be even tougher for the Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer. Citing that next week, two major film will be releasing on silverscreen, it is safe to say that Batti Gul Meter Chalu will struggle a lot to even touch the Rs 50-crore mark. Next week, Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan- starrer Sui Dhaaga will be hitting the screens along with Vishal Bhardwaj’s Pataakha. BGMC stands remote chances of doing good business post Friday this week.
