Actors Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ has continued to win hearts as the film has earned Rs 17.56 crore on its second weekend. The total collection of the film has reached Rs 91.22 crore making it first super hit of the year.

The film fetched Rs 4.21 crore on Friday, Rs 5.90 crore on Saturday and Rs 7.45 crore on Sunday making Rs 17.56 crore its the second weekend collection. The film has so far collected Rs 91.22 crore and is inching towards Rs 100 crore club.

It is expected that the film will cross the 100-crore mark in coming days. If this happened, then this would be Alia’s second film to the coveted club after ‘2 States’ and Varun’s third film after ‘ABCD 2’ and ‘Dilwale’.

This week, ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ faced competition with ‘Beauty and the Beast’ that featured Emma Watson and Dan Steven and Rajkummar Rao starrer ‘Trapped’. The Hollywood flick minted Rs 6.67 crore and the latter collected Rs 1.44 crore. Thus, Badrinath Ki Dulhania continued its winning streak by dominating new releases.

‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ is the sequel of ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’. The chemistry between Alia and Varun in the film along with some wonderful tracks attracted the audience. Varun’s funny ways to make Alia his ‘Dulhania’ and Alia’s ambitions to become an independent lady has made this film one of the successful movies of the year.
