The talented and unconventional actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who has wowed the audience with his latest film Babumoshai Bandokbaaz, has expressed his concerns with regards to the art of cinema. Whether it is dance skills in Munna Michael or villainous act in Raees, Nawaz has scored a win this year. The actor said that as an artiste he is more concerned about the art of cinema rather than focusing on its budget.
Nawazuddin shared the budget of "Babumoshai Bandookbaaz" over Twitter on Friday. "People are talking about the budget of ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz', yes it's a Rs 5 crore film including publicity and advertising, but for me it's an art of cinema regardless of budget," Nawazuddin posted.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), earlier headed by Pahlaj Nihalani, had demanded 48 cuts in "Babumoshai Bandookbaaz", which has intimate scenes, to get an 'A' certificate. But it has been cleared by the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) with eight "minor and voluntary cuts".
Directed by Kushan Nandy. "Babumoshai Bandookbaaz" is an action film, also starring Bengali actress Bidita Bag.
After creating a lot of buzz with Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) which had suggested a total of 48 cuts in Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, the hero of the bold film, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui spoke his heart out on India TV’s show Aap Ki Adalat.
Talking about his struggles, Nawazuddin said because of his dark, short and not-so-impressive looks, it was not easy for him to get an entry into the film industry. He was often rejected in all the fields, but he never gave up. He said that he never felt depressed or disheartened, but continued his hard work.
Later, talking in detail about his forthcoming film Baabumoshai Bandookbaaz, Nawazuddin said that earlier the film team faced a lot of problems in getting clearance from the board. CBFC had suggested as many as 48 cuts in the film, then they went to the tribunal and the film was cleared with only 8 minor cuts. He expressed his happiness.
