New Delhi: SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ has turned out to be a mega blockbuster. The movie has earned close to Rs 600 since its theatrical release on July 10, 2015.
This grand success has made its lead actors Prabhas (36) and Rana Daggubati (31) the youngest actors to enter the Rs 500 crore club. They are younger than the earlier record holders - Salman Khan and Aamir Khan.
Prabhas, 35, has had hits like Varsham, Chatrapathi, Yogi, Munna, Mr. Perfect and Mirchi to his credit. However, it was his stupendous performance as Amarendra Baahubali/Shivudu in the war film that made him a household name.
Rana Daggubati too received unexpected appreciation from critics for his portrayal of Bhallala Deva, the cousin of protagonist Bahubali. He himself is delighted with the success of the movie but for him experience matters more than money.
“It is not about the money. What we are happy is that Baahubali will be remembered as a classic for years to come. What we learnt during the course of the film is what really counts,” he was quoted by an entertainment portal.
Interestingly, on the occasion of Baahubali’s first anniversary, the film is being released once again in Kerala. Distributor Global United Media is releasing the dubbed Malayalam version of the film in the state.
It clearly shows that even after a year, the craze among the audience hasn’t faded away and they are desperately waiting for the ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’, which is slated to release in April 2017.
