Actor Arjun Rampal’s ‘Daddy’ which is a biopic on the life gangster turned politician Arun Gawli is back on track. There were many reports that the movie has been shelved because of financial problems. But Arjun has denied all these rumours saying that this was not the case.
Rumours of the movie being a dead end kicked off because it has been two years since it went in making. It was said to be produced by two production houses but apparently both of them ended their association with the movie due to creative differences.
After this, Arjun came in as a producer last year and the movie is now being made under his home banner Chasing Ganesha. In 2006, Arjun had turned producer for his movie ‘I See You’, which bombed at the box office.
Speaking about the movie, Arjun has said that not only is the movie back on track but it is will also be wrapped up soon.
While speaking to a leading entertainment portal, Arjun said that the shooting will end by this month. He added that the script demanded that the movie be shot at this time of the year.
The movie has been kept well guarded. A few months back Arjun’s look was revealed when he was shooting for a courtroom scene. His uncanny resemblance with the gangster had stunned many.
“We have done a lot of research. It wasn’t easy to shoot for the film as we had to through timelines of several decades,”
Arjun was quoted by a leading daily.
The movie spans 40 years of the Arun Gawli’s life and will mark the debut of south actress Aishwarya Rajesh. She will be seen playing Arjun’s on screen wife.
