Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and Kajol are all set to re-unite after a decade in 'Helicopter Eela'. Directed by Pradeep Sarkar, the film also stars the National Award-winning actor, Riddhi Sen, who will be playing Kajol’s son. Written by Mitesh Shah, Eela will see Kajol playing a single mother and an aspiring singer. The movie is co-produced by Ajay Devgn and Jayantilal Gada of Pen India Ltd.
Filmmaker Taran Adarsh took to social media to confirm that the 'Brahmastra' star has a cameo in Kajol's upcoming film. He wrote, "Amitabh Bachchan will feature in cameo in #HelicopterEela... Stars Kajol, Riddhi Sen, Neha Dhupia and Tota Roy Choudhury... Directed by Pradeep Sarkar... Ajay Devgn and Jayantilal Gada [PEN] presentation... 7 Sept 2018 release."
The two have earlier shared screen space in 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' (2001) and Kajol had a special appearance in Karan Johar's 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' (2006), where she was seen grooving to a portion of the track in the film.
Meanwhile, reinventing the process of parenting, the comedy-drama witnesses Kajol as a single mother and an aspiring singer, Eela, who joins her son, Vivaan's (played by National Award-winning actor Riddhi Sen) college to complete her education. The Pradeep Sarkar-directorial will hit the screens on September 7.
Talking about the peculiar title of Helicopter Eela, Ajay Devgn, who is also a producer behind the project, explained the meaning of the movie's name. "Anand Gandhi narrated the story to me. So then I started rounding up my team. I narrated it to Dada (Pradeep Sarkar) and that is how Eela was put into place. It was initially only titled Eela but then we came across this American concept of 'helicopter parents' who hover around their children all the time. In India, every mother is a helicopter mother so we named it Helicopter Eela," said the actor.
