Alia Bhatt who has gradually evolved into an actor appeared on Rajat Sharma's Aap Ki Adalat and revealed many interesting details. While talking to India TV’s Editor-In-Chief on the popular talk show, Alia opened up on her filmy career and how does she take failure. Recalling an incident of her childhood, Alia said that she can't tolerate failure. Alia said that when she couldn't win in the annual sports day during her 4th standard, she was quite disappointed and went to her father Mahesh Bhatt.
Even when her film Shandaar tanked at the box office, her father was there beside her. Alia said, ''At that time my father told me 'Best revenge is a massive success'''. She put the quote on a board and hung it on the wall behind her bed. Following it, she gave many hits such as Kapoor & Sons, Dear Zindagi, Udta Punjab, etc.
Alia said that she feels responsible when biggies of Bollywood such as Amitabh Bachchan, Gulzar, etc support and encourage her for her good work.
When an audience member asked Alia about the challenges faced by common girls in society when it comes to pursuing their dream, the actress said that girls have to fight for their dreams. ''You couldn't stop chasing your dreams if you are asked to stop,'' she said.
Answering a question, Alia said, ''No one should want to be 'Alia'. Everyone should have their own identity and the aim should be to achieve more than whom you look up to. May be I got the first opportunity because of my father but ultimately hard work pays off''.
The Raazi actress said that every character has changed her in some or the other way. Alia said that she is serious about her work but it is not her life. Talking about her dream role, Alia said that she wants to play a negative character like Shah Rukh Khan in Darr. She also asserted that Aamir Khan starrer Thugs Of Hindostan wasn't offered to her.
Answering a question about her relationship with sister Pooja Bhatt, Alia said,'' She is the most important person to me. She is the best soul like an angel. Whenever I am depressed, I spend five minutes with her and I am relaxed''.
