The Akshay Kumar starrer Jolly LLB 2 has landed in legal soup one again. In the previous month, shoe manufacturer Bata had filed a case against the filmmakers and actors Akshay and Annu Kapoor for projecting the brand in bad light in the film’s trailer. Now, the film is in trouble once again because of its film's title.
Fresh reports say that an advocate Ajaykumar S Waghmare has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court for dropping the word 'LLB' from the title of the film.
Reportedly, Waghmare stated in his petition that several scenes shown in the trailer of the film was an attempt to malign the reputation of Indian legal profession. He mentioned that the film was disrespecting the judicial discipline, proceedings and ethics.
The advocate Wanghmare also stressed that the trailer should be pulled off from all social media and television channels.
The petition is likely to be heard on January 24 before Division Bench of Justice V.M. Kanade and Justice Sangitrao Patil.
Directed by Subhash Kapoor, 'Jolly LLB 2' has Akshay Kumar playing the character of Jagdish Mishra, an unscrupulous lawyer who turns over a new leaf when he battles an all-important case.
