New Delhi: The year 2016 has been rewarding for superstar Akshay Kumar. His January release, ‘Airlift’ is still the highest grosser of this year and his last movie, ‘Housefull 3’ is raking millions at the box office.
Last night, the team of ‘Housefull 3’ hosted a success bash in which they interacted with the media. While everything was going fine at the press conference, Akshay Kumar almost moved to tears at a question.
At the press conference, a media personnel quizzed Khiladi Kumar, how he feels when he doesn’t get any awards at esteemed functions despite his movie earning crores at the box office.
On this, Akshay jestingly burst into tears saying,
“Award… (wiping away his tears with a handkerchief passed on by co-star Riteish Deshmukh) award kabhie nai milta hai (I never get awards).”
At this performance of Akshay’s, everyone burst into a laugh.
Then, on a serious note Akshay added,
“But, I don’t have a problem. It is okay if I don’t get awards, but I get rewards.”
When Akshay was asked if he thinks, awards are pre decided, he said,
“Haan, do baar maine kiya hai. Bina lifafa khole jo saamne baitha hai usko de diya”; sending another laughter wave in the precincts.
When asked about how he strikes a balance between diverse roles, Akshay told reporters,
“When I like the script, I just go ahead with it. Anybody can do it. When I came in the industry I was called furniture when I used to act. So if I can do it, anyone can do it.”
