Actor Akshay Kumar has once again proved that good script is the most prominent factor to make film a hit. When movies of superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan disappointed audiences, expectations were high from Akshay’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. Based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the film creates awareness of open defecation. The collections of Akshay starrer indicate that the movie has succeeded to win hearts.
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is made on the budget of nearly Rs 20 cr and the overall collection of the film now stands at Rs 83.45 cr. It goes without saying that the film is going to enter the coveted 100 crore club soon making it Khiladi Kumar’s fifth consecutive hit.
The film has a very powerful social message and thus BJP Government in Haryana has directed all district development and panchayat officers to organise its special screening in order to aware people of open defecation.
With Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Akshay has left behind Shah Rukh’s Jab Harry Met Sejal. Despite releasing on extended weekend, the collections of the film were not very encouraging. Khiladi Kumar was overwhelmed with the response of the film and thanked his fans.
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha also featured actress Bhumi Pednekar in a crucial role.
