The release date of Akshay Kumar starrer Padman is now rescheduled. The social initiative based film, which was supposed to release on Republic Day, will now release a day earlier on January 25th, 2018. Akshay took to social media to announce the new release date for his upcoming film Padman. After raising the issue of sanitization in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Khiladi Kumar has come up with the subject of menstrual hygiene. The trailer of Padman looked promising. The film is inspired from the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, the man who invented low-cost sanitary napkins.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Akshay Kumar wrote, “Superhero ke saath Super Republic week. #PadMan releasing on 25th January 2018!”.
Padman revolves around a man who produces cost-effective sanitary napkins for the naïve women living in the remote areas and educating them about its importance. The film also stars actress Sonam Kapoor in a pivotal role.
Inspired by the life of Coimbatore-based Arunachalam Muruganantham, who found a way to make affordable sanitary napkins for women in his village.
Along with Akshay, the film also features Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte. Twinkle Khanna has ventured into production with this project. The lady was so inspired by the story of Arunachalam that she wrote about him in her book, The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad.
