Ajay Devgn's films are mostly focussed on the family audience and that's why he avoids kissing on screen. The actor stays away from intimate screen in movies as he likes to enjoy films with family and sometimes it can lead to uncomfortable situations. In a career spanning over 27 years, Ajay has not chosen to do bold scenes except in 2016 film Shivaay.

In an interview with DNA, the actor explained the reason behind his no-kissing policy. ''Most of the scripts I choose are aimed at a family audience. Given this, doing an on-screen kiss or showing intimacy beyond a certain limit doesn't work,'' the actor said.

"I like watching films with my family. I'm sure others too enjoy watching movies with their entire family. On-screen intimacy can therefore be uncomfortable especially if you are watching a movie with a child or a young adult. Or for that matter with an elder. So, I would best avoid smooching,'' he added.

Earlier, in an interview with IndiaToday.in, Ajay Devgn defended his Shivaay kissing scene by saying that it was the demand of the script. He also added that the scene was shot aesthetically. ''In this film, the [kissing] scene was needed. The lovemaking scene had to have the kissing too. You need to build the scene in a proper way, you know. Not just leave out some stuff and have the other. And it is shot very aesthetically. These days, people add kissing scenes in films forcefully because they want to be talked about for some time. Imagine tags like a 'three-minute kiss', 'seven-minute kiss' and so on," he had said.

Ajay is currently busy promoting his forthcoming movie De De Pyaar De, which also stars Rakul Preet Singh and Tabu in important roles.

In De De Pyaar De, Ajay's character Ashish, who is 50 years old falls for Rakul's character Ayesha, a 26 years old beautiful girl. On the other hand, Tabu portrays the role of Ashish's ex-wife, who has two kids as young as Rakul. Directed by Akiv Ali and produced by Luv Ranjan, De De Pyaar De is scheduled to hit the big screens on May 17.

On a related note, Ajay will be seen in Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior and Bhuj: The Pride of India. He has also signed Neeraj Pandey’s Chanakya and a biopic on football coach Syed Abdul Rahim besides SS Rajamouli's film RRR. The actor is also doing an untitled movie along with Ranbir Kapoor helmed by Luv Ranjan.
