Filmmaker Karan Johar has finally broken his silence on the newest controversy engulfing Bollywood, one at whose centre he sits. Speaking at an event organised by a leading newspaper today, Karan responded on the war between actors Ajay Devgn and Kamaal Rashid Khan. The head honcho of Dharma Productions said that his upbringing doesn’t allow him answer the question.
Bollywood woke up to a fresh controversy today after Ajay Devgn alleged that Karan paid Rs 25 lakh to KRK to bad mouth ‘Shivaay’ and sing praises for ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. This made the upcoming Diwali clash more controversial.
Ajay demanded an investigation stating that self proclaimed critics like KRK are holding industry at a ransom.
While this controversy unfurled, KJo kept mum. An active user of social media, Karan kept tweeting today but said nothing on this matter.
But this evening when he was asked to respond on the matter Karan reportedly said,
“My self respect, reputation, company reputation, upbringing doesn't allow me to dignify this question with a response.”
Well, it will only be known later if Karan will speak more on this matter or no.
It should also be noted that in this bitter battle, Karan’s close friend actress Kajol has chosen a side. Ajay Devgn’s wife retweeted her husband’s tweet saying it was shocking.
‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and ‘Shivaay’ will clash on October 28.
