New Delhi: Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has completed 15 years at Cannes International Film Festival. At the latest one the diva ensured she looked enthralling as she walked the red carpet.
However, on one particular it was Aishwarya’s purple lips that bagged a lot of attention and because of which the beauty queen even got trolled on social media.
The ‘Jazbaa’ actress took it all bravely and now has come up with the perfect reply revealing the reason why she chose to go with the lavender hue.
During a recent a media event, Aishwarya confessed that it wasn’t her choice to go with purple lips at the Cannes red carpet.
“I work with L’Oreal so it’s really their prerogative and I am cool about it. I am their brand ambassador so obviously, it is my responsibility to deliver what they expect from me and I have gladly done that year after year and you a have enjoyed watching me on the red carpet. I have always said that I go on floor and you all enjoy the show. Even this year, you guys did the same; enjoyed the show. I have got there with some highly qualified professionals in tow to work with me .Scarlet does my make-up and Stevans does my hair over the years and they are doing their jobs brilliantly. Scarlet had always done magical creativity with me over the years now and even this year she wanted to do something different and I was like go ahead. We have enjoyed a lot and so did the media, over the years you may have seen the creativity and primarily, it’s all about the fashion and I let my professionals do their job.
It’s blatantly about the hair and make-up product company and that’s what your blatantly projecting. Scarlet wanted to me go purple so I was like, go ahead and have fun and that’s what everyone too had. It was interesting and it has evoked all sorts of responses and art does that. I am fine with all the responses sometimes people get it and sometimes they don’t.. Sometimes they are like wow and sometimes they are like, really? But that’s okay.”
Currently, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is busy promoting her forthcoming movie ‘Sarbjit’ also starring Randeep Hooda and Richa Chadha. Helmed by Omung Kumar, the movie will hit the theatres on May 20.
