New Delhi: Bollywood actress Aditi Rao Hydari recently made it to the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

It was reported that the diva had broken the traffic rules during her recent visit to the national capital, Delhi.

Reportedly, the ‘Murder 3’ actress’ car was held for the UP traffic police for taking allegedly taking a wrong turn while on their way to DLF Mall, Noida.

This incident indeed bagged a lot of attention by the media. However, now Aditi Rao has come forward defending herself about the incident. The diva claimed that she didn’t want anyone to take benefits of her celebrity status and that is why she left the place.

“The mall was bang opposite the hotel I was staying at and I wanted to walk down the road to go to the mall but was advised by the event staff to take a car instead because it was a weekend and the streets were pretty crowded. I was attending to some urgent work mails on my phone when my car stopped, assuming that it must be a signal, I didn’t look up and continued with my work on phone. I realized we were stopped by the cops when my driver stepped out and understood that some law must be broken. I stepped out of the car with my team and walked towards the mall,” Aditi told an entertainment portal

The actress seemed to be quite miffed with the way the incident was being stretched unnecessarily. She stated, “I honestly don’t see why such a big deal should be made about this. I was not in the driver’s seat, it wasn’t my car and he was not even my regular driver. I don’t appreciate my name being used to break a rule and get away with it, so I left.”

Aditi Rao Hydari was last seen on the silver screen in ‘Wazir’ opposite Farhan Akhtar and the film also starred megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
