Abhishek Bachchan observes 17 years of Refugee with a throwback picture with Kareena Kapoor

17 years of Refugee marks 17th anniversary of Abhishek Bachchan's journey in Bollywood. Here's how the actor celebrated.

Abhishek Bachchan, as we all know, has started his career 17 years ago with JP Dutta’s Refugee. Refugee is a love story based on the backdrop of India-Pakistan partition in 1947. He featured alongside Kareena Kapoor who also debuted in Bollywood with this movie. Today, the movie completed its 17 years marking the 17th anniversary of Abhishek Bachchan’s Bollywood journey. To commemorate this day, Junior Bachchan posted a picture on his Instagram account with JP Dutta. He also thanked his co-star Suniel Shetty, Kareena Kapoor and Anupam Kher for their support. 

Here’s what he wrote: 

this photo was taken right after I gave my first ever shot for my 1st film, Refugee. Cant believe its already been 17 years. Thank you JP saab for having faith and belief in me ( and continuing to) dont know if I'll ever be able to thank you enough for introducing and guiding me through the world of cinema. To Bebo, Jaggu dada, @suniel.shetty, @anupampkher and the rest of the coolest and most loving cast and crew... Thank you for being the best co-stars a newcomer could ever ask for. For your patience, love, support and compassion.

He shared another picture on his Facebook account which shows director J.P. Dutta, Abhishek and Kareena. 

On completion of 15 years of Refugee, Junior Bachchan took to Twitter to declare that Kareena is his favourite co-star.

He had posted, "Kareena (bebo) , thank you. My first ever co-star, friend and rabble rouser in the industry. You will always be a favourite.

Earlier this year, he shared a throwback picture of himself and Kareena shooting for the song ‘Mere Humsafar’ for the film Refugee. It is evident that JP Dutta directorial is very close to his heart. 

It should be noted that, after 17 years, Junior Bachchan is collaborating with Dutta for a new film titled 'Paltan'. The flick is based on a war background, just like most of his movies. The movie will start its shooting schedule later this year and is said to release in Summer next year.
