New Delhi: Actor Abhishek Bachchan has for long tried to fight past the tags that engulfs him. He is the son of the star of the millennium, Amitabh Bachchan and many have time and again said that the road to stardom was easy for him.
But, Abhishek, whilst being thankful to his superstar parents, asserts that he obviously has some talent which is why he is surviving in the film industry for the past sixteen years.
During a conversation with a renowned film critic Faridoon Shahryar, Abhishek said that people should understand that as much his father wanted, he could not launch him. He said,
“My Dad never called up a director or producer saying please take my son in the film. That is not what he believes in. He told me one day and has said that publically also that, ‘I have never made a film for my son’, even when none of my films were working.”
Revealing Big B’s dark phase when he was facing problems with his production house ABC Corporations, Abhishek said he wanted to launch me, but could not.
“I now understand what he must have felt like, because I am a father myself. The feeling of not able to do something for your child really upsets you. I agree that according to me he is the greatest actor there will be, but he is also a father, we forget that,” said Abhishek.
He went on,
“My father is the most down to earth, humble person who is just concerned about his work. He hasn’t even forced people to work with him.”
Junior Bachchan also revealed the life mantra which Big B told him which was, “Beta, just do your work. If you are good at it, you will get roles.”
Well, being a star kid is not as easy as commoners decipher.
Abhishek will be next seen in ‘Housefull 3’ and interestingly his character is a fan of Amitabh Bachchan. But, then aren’t we all?
