Aashiqui 2 fame Ankit Tiwari and two other Bollywood singers booked for cheating

It is reported that the firm paid Rs. 30 lakh to Ankit Tiwari's company- Brotherhood Entertainment- to perform at a show two years ago, but the singers failed to do so and also did not return the money.

MumbaI Police has filed an FIR against Bollywood singers Ankit Tiwari, Akruti Kakkar and Shilpa Rao for not performing at an event despite collecting fees. The complainant approached Andheri magistrate court after the celebrities didn't return their money. After court's intervention, Oshiwara police filed a complaint against these three.

The three singers have been booked under Section 406 of the Indian Penal Code.It is reported that the firm paid Rs. 30 lakh to Tiwari's company- Brotherhood Entertainment- to perform at a show two years ago, but the singers failed to do so and also did not return the money.The police have summoned the three singers for questioning.For the unversed, under Section 406 of the IPC, whoever commits criminal breach of trust shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both.

Ankit Tiwari has composed songs for popular films including Roy, PK and Aashiqui 2. Shilpa Rao gave her voice for Malang song from Dhoom 3. Her other popular songs include Khuda Jaane from Bachna Ae Haseeno and Ishq Shava from Jab Tak Hai Jaan among others.
