Superstar Salman Khan has been sentenced to five years of imprisonment by a Jodhpur court yesterday in connection with the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. Later on Saturday, he was granted bail against Rs 50,000 personal bond. However, his Hum Saath Saath Hain co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Tabu were acquitted. Salman’s verdict came as a big shock for celebs who expressed their disappointment on social media. Few years back, during his interaction with India TV's Editor-in-Chief Rajat Sharma on Aap ki Adalat, the superstar not only talked about blackbuck poaching case but also revealed the reason he is not getting married.
Salman opened up about how the case has affected his personal and professional life. In the India TV's show, Salman Khan revealed that the court cases have hit a pause on his personal life as he thinks it would be unfair to marry if he may go to jail one day.
On being asked when he would marry, he said, “Once there was a time when I thought I will get married. But that did not happen. But now, there are Jodhpur and Mumbai cases. Hopefully, we will win both cases on merit, but if we don't, then do you think it will be fair that I am in jail leaving behind my wife and children?"
"I will think about marriage only after the cases are over.”
For the uninitiated, the actor is alleged to have shot and killed the blackbuck in Kankani village near Jodhpur while shooting Hum Saath Saath Hain.
The Jodhpur court has granted bail to the Race 3 actor on Saturday against a bond of Rs 1 Lakh. Also, Salman Khan will have to seek permission from the court before leaving the country. On May 7, he will have to appear before the court again.
