While viewers had a lot of expectations from Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan’s just released film Thugs of Hindostan, it failed to woo the audience and critics alike. However, in just three days TOH crossed the 100 crore mark and became the Highest Opening Weekend of 2018. It was raining numbers on the release day of the film as it even crossed the 50 crore mark but it witnessed huge downfall from Day 2. Nevertheless, it earned Rs 123 crore approx. in the first weekend and broke Sanju’s record that stood with Rs 120 crores in the first weekend.

Well, if we talk technically, Thugs of Hindostan enjoyed a four-day weekend because of Diwali while Sanju had a three-day weekend. Also, Sanju enjoyed great numbers in the first week while it is difficult to say the same about Thugs of Hindostan.

According to the latest numbers, the film’s total earnings are Rs 123 crores and witnessed 25% drop on Day 4. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted the figures on his Instagram account. He said, "#ThugsOfHindostan faces REJECTION... The dwindling *extended weekend* biz clearly indicates it has failed to live up to the mammoth expectations... It did set new benchmarks on Day 1, but the negative word of mouth hit biz hard on subsequent days... #TOH"

On the other hand, the film has come as a good news for megastar Amitabh Bachchan as this is his first film to cross Rs 100 crore mark. The Aditya Chopra produced mega-budget movie released in record number of theatres (5,000 screens) amid huge hype, expectations and promotion. Massive advance booking helped it get an earth-shattering response at the ticket counters. Thugs of Hindustan collected over Rs 50 crore net at the Indian box office on the first day and become the biggest opener of 2018.

In a massive blow to the makers of Thugs Of Hindostan, the entire film was leaked online by the piracy website TamilRockers. This is expected to make a huge dent in the collection of the film in the coming days.
